“I started networking. I stopped overthinking and denying what I wanted,” she explained. “I listened for a strong yes or a clear no — and moved accordingly without hesitation. Following intuition became my new normal.”

Today: “I overcame my fear of death and started living.”

“So much has shifted,” Lamonica reflected. “I was approved for weight-loss surgery and released 165 lbs. I’m two years sober from alcohol and cannabis. I now live in a beautiful home with my family. My oldest received a full-ride scholarship to private school. I met the sweetest man, we have a daughter, and he has a farm. I’ve held a full-time job for two years after PTSD made that feel impossible. I overcame my fear of death and started living.”

Her Advice for Future MBA Students
