Today I wanted to share with you some of my own tips on basically “How To Make Your Subconscious Mind Your Bitch” but we’ll keep it nice and call it “How To Employ Your Subconscious Mind Fulltime” LOL!
As you probably already know, your subconscious mind is EXTREMELY powerful.
It is the communicator between you and the Universe.
Its the part of your brain that creates the reality you see today.
It’s the part of your brain in which your beliefs reside (both limiting beliefs and empowering beliefs included).
It’s the deep part of your brain that accepts everything you imagine as REAL. Whether you are actually experiencing something in your life or just imagining it… the subconscious mind takes it as “real!”
It’s the part of your brain that can either make or break your success in life.
Knowing this, you can see how being able to control your subconscious mind is a powerful asset.
I wanted to set you off into the weekend by giving you some super powerful tips that can help you take control and actually TRAIN your subconscious mind. Train it in such a way that it works around the clock to literally attract what you want and need to you when you want and need it. Think of it as a dog playing fetch. You throw an idea out into the Universe, and your subconscious mind going out and brings back to you exactly what you ask for.
Sounds like something you want to know more about, right?! Personally I’ve been fascinated with this part of the brain and a lot of what I do 1:1 with my clients is uncover their subconscious blocks in order to help them move toward their goals.
So what are some of my tips on employing your subconscious mind?!
Tip #1: Figure out your ultimate outcome of any situation and have absolute certainty that you will get there.
Simply put, your subconscious mind will move you towards anything that you FOCUS on. When you focus on something –good or bad– you essentially tell your subconscious that this “thing” is really important to you. We do this intentionally and also unintentionally. We do this by focusing on our goals and our visions… but also by focusing on negativity like watching the news or listening to gossip for instance.
You could be telling your subconscious mind right now that your current goal of manifesting 5 new clients into your business is important… and you can also be telling your subconscious that your worry of going into debt is super important to you as well. Your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between what you want or don’t want. All that it knows is what you FOCUS on. So realize that directing your focus alone can change your life.
The best thing you could do? Figure out the ultimate OUTCOME you want of every situation and be certain that your subconscious mind will take you there. Once you figure out a direction, your subconscious has no choice but to get you there. It works around the clock like a machine. It has its own GPS that’s activated through your desire & goal setting. If we go back to that dog playing fetch metaphor, your subconscious mind is activated as soon as you throw that ball into the Universe.
Tip #2: Use the last few minutes before you fall asleep wisely by visualizing or asking important questions.
I heard this tip from Dr. Wayne Dyer about a year ago and ever since it has completely revolutionized my sleep! Your subconscious mind is most active during those last few minutes before you fall asleep as you start to get really drowsy.
Let me ask you this– have you ever gone to sleep with a question and somehow woken up with the answer? This used to happen to me in college when I was taking calculus. I’d be stuck on a problem for HOURS, take a nap, and all of a sudden wake up with clarity on how to solve it. I’m SURE this has happened to you too at some point.
Simplest explanation for this phenomenon? Your subconscious mind went to work while you slept! Remember how I said that your subconscious mind is the communicator with the Universe? You can now tap into all the guidance that the Universe has to offer just by sleeping! But you have to first initiate that guidance by choosing what to focus on as you get drowsy.
I also like to visualize myself accomplishing my goals, living out my dream life, and having everything on my vision board at this time as well. My subconscious mind always delivers inspired action for me to take by the time I wake up in the morning. Sometimes it comes to me in a form of a dream. Sometimes it’s a feeling I get soon after I wake up. Sometimes it happens later in the day as things unfold. My point is? Start using those 8 hours at night for something!!!

Tip #3: Surround yourself with physical PROOF that your goals are possible.
This is something that I always tell my clients. When you find someone out there in the world who already accomplished what it is you’re trying to accomplish, there is nothing that can stop you. Surround yourself with success stories, actual people, and as much evidence as you possibly can that what you want is ABSOLUTELY fucking real.
It’s only a matter of time before you have it in your own hands. Your belief system greatly affects how much your subconscious mind works FOR you rather than against you. By constantly proving yourself right with these examples, you train your subconscious mind to seek out even more reasons that you are RIGHT for believing that you are capable of achieving anything and everything you desire.
Tip #4: Give yourself commands and do hard things especially when you don’t feel like doing them.
This tip is great for those who are interested in training their subconscious minds to achieve fitness or health goals with ease. A trick that helped my subconscious mind obey me was to give myself a lot of simple commands. An example would be “{!firstname_fix}, eat this salad for lunch.” “{!firstname_fix}, you are going to wake up at 6am tomorrow.” “{!firstname_fix}, get out of bed right now.” “{!firstname_fix}, get dressed and head out to your spin class.” The trick is to ACTUALLY obey these silly commands. Start with the very basics.
When you start to obey the simple commands you give yourself, you train your subconscious mind to actually LISTEN to you when it comes to something bigger in other areas of your life like “{!firstname_fix}, secure that million dollar deal.”
Make sense?!
And what I mean by doing hard things especially when you don’t feel like doing them? WELL. After 12 or so mornings in a row of getting up at 5 to go to your 6am spin class… it eventually becomes a habit right? Your subconscious mind is very habitual. Eventually EVERYTHING becomes a habit. If you can make a hard task a habit, you can make ANYTHING a habit!
Tip #5: Play shit on REPEAT. Until you think you are the one who wrote the book.
The subconscious mind is activated through lots and lots and lots of repetition. When I come across a book, podcast, talk, or seminar that I want ingrained in me, I listen to it at LEAST 8-10 times. Literally. Not because I didn’t get the point the first time, but because I want to start automatically thinking like the author. I want to absorb every bit of genius from the book/podcast/talk into my subconscious mind so that it sticks with me for life. Repetition truly is the mother of all skill!
